Featuring a monocoque case of carbon-reinforced resin framed in metal for a lighter weight and more durable timepiece. The metal frame connects with a multilayer bezel forged from laminated sheets of carbon- and glass-fiber that are heat-pressed to form a base plate and then cut to form. The layered-composite band results in a lighter watch with even more detailed metal texture.

MTG-B2000YBD has a bezel frame formed with carbon at the sides of the watch to be 77% lighter than one in stainless steel. The top-layer carbon sheet wraps around the sides at the 3 o’clock, 6 o’clock, 9 o’clock, and 12 o’clock positions for greater strength, while tube-shaped carbon sheeting encircles the lugholes for enhanced durability. Glass fiber layers in G-SHOCK red provide a pop of strong color around the sides of the case.
